John Brown felt he needed to do this because he was religious man who listened to the bible so he wanted to get rid of the slave owners and free the slaves from them. I believe that Frederick Douglass’s way of being an abolitionist is in fact the most effective way. I can prove that because when listened to by the right person Frederick Douglass’s words really do matter and can make a change like Abraham Lincoln and other people with power. I do think that John Brown’s raid had a lot of potential to hange a lot in the US but since it failed when it was almost done. I honestly don’t think we can compare that with Frederick Douglass. Because Douglass could have went wrong and could have caused nothing to anything. My position is towards Frederick Douglass because he has a way that does not â€Å"hurt† anyone. When on the other hand John Brown killed lots of people and himself. And to support my thesis, Frederick Douglass always did everything peaceful ly so there would be minimal problems.
